WELCOME TO GRAVELOTTE GAME
Gravelotte Game is a 2250 hectare game farm situated on Farm Gravelotte, District Gravelotte, in Limpopo Province, South Africa.
Farm Gravelotte was created in 2003 when we diverted from cattle farming to game farming by introducing disease free buffaloes. Since 2004 several excellent disease-free buffalo from breeding herds of Koos Bekker, Koos Kemp, Cottondale, Ammondale (Barry Streicher) and SANParks were obtained.
One of these young buffalo bulls obtained from the mentioned breeders developed into one of the largest Kruger buffalo in captivity used for breeding in South Africa with a spread of “Gravelotte RW 49,5”, Boss 17” and SCI 132”. Today “Gravelotte's” offspring already show great potential. In 2014 Gravelotte Game expanded their buffalo breeding project when they purchased “Niel RW 47” Addo & East Africa.
During 2012, Sable antelope, Southern Roan antelope and Black Impala were introduced into Gravelotte Game’s breeding program on farm Gravelotte. These animals were obtained from renowned selected breeders only.
- For the Sable Bulls, we used Piet Warren's Bloodline; Piet's son, "Mopanie” - 50,3/8” Piet son “P64” RW 48” and Thaba Tholo's Nike Bloodline, “Riaan” RW 47”. They are renowned for breeding chestnut red calves, with an exceptional horn spread. For the Sable females, we used Piet Warren & Big Five's Bloodline, “Patrick's” daughters. All the Sable breeds are Pure Zambian.
- Our Roan antelope originated from Palala Game Farm's bull, “Arnold” 32,4/8” Purely Southern, where quality genetics is of the utmost importance.
- Black Impalas from Jacques Malan “Lumari” and Woempa game breeders ram “Henk” RW 23, 3/4” who need no introduction for their exceptional quality breeding animals.
Latest... In 2015, Golden Wildebeest from “Romaco Ranch” Colin and Ellalien.
When it comes to Golden Wildebeest, Romaco Ranch is the name in the game. Being one of the pioneer breeders of the true Egoli Gnu, they have made several leaps towards breeding these phenomenal animals. From the beginning they implemented a strict selection process on the basis of colour only “white golden manes” with light body colouring, above average horn size on male & females and overall body size.
Meticulous record keeping on Gravelotte Game with an intensive feeding program are done on all our animals, to ensure that the best calculated informed decisions are implemented by knowing the parents of all our progeny and the calf interval periods of our females.
Great steps have been taken by Gravelotte Game to successfully ensure that we offer the best genetic diversity available in this highly competitive market. We at Gravelotte Game know that it is very important when purchasing offspring.
Gravelotte Game’s principal is to breed with the best genetics available, obtain the advice of other successful professional game breeders.
